Verse of the day ~Sing to the Lord~

IMG_0101.JPG

O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. Psalms‬ ‭95‬:‭1-2‬

God so deserves the fruit of our lips. What a wonderful savior. I don’t know where I could begin to praise him. He has truly been so good to me.

I want to thank him today for my trials… That might seem a strange thing to be thankful for, but looking back I know that I grew from them.

For lack of better words, there was a time that God destroyed me… Truly it was my own lusts and desires. My faith was so shaken that I began to question everything I thought I once knew. I felt so hopeless and empty.

It was through this time that I began reading the word without the filter of what I had always known.

You see, the way we are raised can influence our interpretation of God’s word so much. If we can challenge ourselves, try our beliefs, examine ourselves daily, we can learn so much from God’s word.

I think about the time of the reformation. There was a time that nobody had a bible. Everyone was expected to listen to what a priest told them was right or wrong… People were starving for the truth because the priests only preached what fit their agenda’s. Christianity was so interlaced into the political realm that Lords and kings had more influence on the church and Christians than the bible did.

Once the common people had access to the Word of God, Reformation was inevitable. Their had to be changes made. Through many trials and much hardship, God used that period of time to cause an awakening for believers.

Let God reform your hearts today. Study his word without any filters.

  • Remove your parent’s filter
  • Remove your church’s filter
  • Remove your personal filter
  • Remove popular culture’s filter

Interpret the Bible with… The Bble

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.2 Timothy 2:15

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. James 1:5

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened Luke 11:9-10

God is willing, God is able. He desires to teach his children. Seek him with all your heart, and you will find him.

God bless!

Thank you Maria. I am hopeful that the Lord will bring reformation to us again today. We have become so dependant on big box preachers when God has allowed us such good translations of his word. Thanks for reading, keep up your posts:)

Yes, we need a return to the Bible as our only authority, a new Reformation. The big box preachers are leading people away from the simplicity of Christ.
I like to read your blog, and yes Lord willing I’ll try to keep posting. Thanks, Stephen!
