Open rebuke is better than secret love. Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful. Proverbs 27:5-6
If you seen someone standing in the street, and a logging truck was coming right at them, wouldn’t you try and communicate the imminent danger? Often times we are labeled as “judgmental” if we try and warn someone about the paths they are taking. I seen someone post on Facebook last night that they were looking for a non judgmental church. She began to explain her situation.
My boyfriend and I live together. We don’t want to be judged. We are expecting a baby. We don’t want to be judged. We have several tattoos and piercings. We don’t want to go anywhere that people are going to say anything to us about it.
There was over 100 comments with invites to different churches. Don’t get me wrong, I want them in church. Even in my church! My heart went out to her. But what bothered me was how many of those comments condoned her in her sin. The problem with our churches today is that we have a bunch of unregenerate people trying to convert others to the same unregenerate state. Jesus said there would be many that would say unto him “Lord Lord, haven’t we done this, haven’t we done that for your name?” and he will answer, Depart, I never knew you… I am not saying this to be judgmental. I too have had my struggles and rebelled similarly when I was young. Not many people loved me enough to come and talk to me about my position before God. The ones that did, I viewed as radical and judgmental. Now, I count them as my dearest friends, and I know they would be there for me at the drop of a hat!
The people that want to condone and fellowship our sin are not true friends. They are at the parties with you, they like to drink with you, do drugs with you, but when everything falls apart in your life and you need someone desperately. Where did they go?
I love those that I will be honest with. I want to warn the littl boy abut to be hit by the logging truck, I want to save him. Even If I get hit and killed in the process. Sometimes you might be committing social suicide by speaking out. Don’t hate the sinner, hate the sin. Jude put it this way
And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Jude 1:23
Lets reach with loving arms. Christ labored for the sinners. He wants to cleanse us and make us pure of ALL our sins. Whether that is; pride, self righteousness, drugs, swearing, coveting, idolatry, fornication, etc. He cam to be our savior, not leave us to die in our sin.
God bless!
