Verse of the day ~I will serve him~

blog

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
MATTHEW 1:23

This verse is so powerful, beautiful, and humbling. God, in his love has sent his son for us. He died on a cross to purchase us to himself. Why would he do this? What have we done to deserve this? The answer is simple. Nothing… Nothing… I have never done anything worthy to be saved. I was worthy of death. Worthy of Damnation. That is what I deserved.

And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the  Lord  shall name.    Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzi–bah, and thy land Beulah: for the  Lord  delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.    For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.    Behold, the  Lord  hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.    And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the  Lord : and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken. Isaiah 62

We are his Holy people, sought out. He has redeemed us from our sins and our iniquities. We are valued. and he has commended his love towards us. Because of what he has done for me, I will serve him.

I could never repay him. But I will serve him.
I will never be worthy of his death on the cross. But I will serve him.
I will never understand his deep deep love. I will serve him anyways.
I cannot live any longer in my sin and shame. I will serve him.
I hate my former condemnation. I will serve him.
I am like Moses and of a slow tongue and speech. I will serve him.
I am small before Goliath. I will serve him.
Through the valley of the shadow of Death. I will serve him.
Where else could I go!? There is salvation in no other name. I will serve him.

Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; 1 Peter 2:11

He is worthy of our praise, he is everything. Your life is covered with Christ Jesus. He is our only hope. If you are struggling, cry out to him. He is mighty to save. He will bring us up out of the bondage of our sins and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. You can’t do it on your own. Place your life in his control and he alone will make you perfect. Stablish and strengthen you. He is our firm foundation. Other foundation can no man lay. Don’t build on the sand of your self confidence. Give it to him, and serve him.

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? Romans 6:16

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Roman 6:23
