These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33
Any one of us can look out today and see the tribulation in the world. There are terrifying things that are happening to Christians in the middle east, korea, and also tribulations right here in America.
I read an article the other day on a case in Houston TX. where the officials had subpoenaed the sermons of five pastors to make sure that they were not teaching against homosexuality.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; II Timothy 3:2-4
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world… Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. I John 2:16, 2:18
Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Psalms 51:10
To be transformed in your mind is to turn your heart over to the living God. Our hearts are decitfully wicked above all who can know them!? We are a “feels right” society. We like to evaluate how we feel about something based on our own experiences. What we fail to realize is how easily we are influenced. The devil is trying to wean us off of the Word of God, and onto our feelings! This is such a good way to twist and distort law and what is proper and right.
We must go to God with these questions on what is right or wrong. Read his word. Paul told Timothy “Study to shew yourself approved unto God, A workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” When we stand before him on that great day of judgement and are judged by our works, we will be weighed in the balance of his word.
Will you be found wanting? John 15:1-10
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.”
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. I Corinthians 6:9-11
Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. James 1:21-22
Jesus warned us that there would be false prophets in the land and they would deceive many. Faith in Jesus Christ is the only thing that can save us! James has recorded that “Faith without works is dead being alone”
Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
We cannot bear fruit of ourselves. Our rightenouss is as filthy rags before such a Holy God. But He sent his son to purge us. He has washed away our sins, and he has given us his spirit to abide and dwell in us. He has delivered us from the bondage of sin,into the glorious liberty of the sons of God.
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Romans 6:1-2
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Do not neglect so great a salvation! Come unto him. Turn from your sins. Repent and believe.
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
There is a day coming in which you will not find grace. He is merciful and long-suffering to us-ward. Not willing that any would perish, but that all would come to repentance. That is what he is doing in your heart today if you are feeling the weight of your sins. He is calling you today.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28
As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.
You can’t do this on your own. You must come to him. He has the wedding prepared. You are the halt and lame. He has called you freely to the feast. Be sure to come in your wedding garments! In other words, come prepared. Prepared to give up the things of this world. The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, the pride of life. Lay it down at the masters feet. Accept him as your Lord and Savior. If you do, you will bear fruit. You will keep his commandments. You will love him more than your father, mother, sister, brother, wife, husband, children, and yourself. He calls for a total commitment, but he returns to us eternal life with him in Heaven. He gives us the ability to live above sin. There is No condemnation to them that walk Godly in Christ Jesus. He has Saved us from the bondage of our sins.
