For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. JAMES 3:16
As Christians I think it is so important that we take heed of ourselves. As the scripture shows, confusion and every evil work are the fruits of envy and strife. As the natural brute beasts that we are, our flesh seeks to deal with things in an aggressive way. What were your emotions the last time someone cut you off in traffic? The last time you were falsely accused? We read about Christ, when he was reviled he opened not his mouth. Scripture tells us Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath! God understands that there are things that will aggravate us, but we mustn’t act on such things. When you blow your top at the guy taking your order through the drive through, what example of the believers are you representing? We are called to be ambassadors for Christ in this world. It is our calling to show others the love of Christ, and the promise of a better kingdom! Isn’t that what Jesus prayed? Thy will be done, thy kingdom come, on earth as it is in heaven.
The next time you are tempted by strife, remember what the word says;
“The servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men.”
“Be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”
“Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”
The Grace of God be with us today, that we may walk, even as he walked. By the power of the spirit of God within us. Amen
